Fog, rain, snow and sun: The ‘global warming’ of KM – Sue Halbwirth
Sue will discuss some recent information and knowledge management projects working with organisations in Europe, North America and the Middle East. While the organisations all have an international focus they have a diverse set of intents, agendas and contexts – building knowledge capabilities, capturing corporate memory, leveraging market and stakeholder intelligence, recording medical / legal decisons, gaining consensus and coordinating information flows at a major event .. the questions that arise are: what are the common issues and themes that KM is addressing? While the contexts change do the ‘KM’ issues remain the same? Is ‘KM’ converging or diverging?
Sue Halbwirth is Adjunct Professor, Knowledge Management at University of Technology Sydney. Sue’s previous roles have included Manager Knowledge Services at AUSTRADE (Australian Trade Commission) and Program Manager, Knowledge Services at Sydney Organising Committee for the Olympic Games.
