Topic:  Activity Based Working (ABW) Demystified

You may have heard of activity based working (ABW), a trend that has become popular in many Australian organisations? ABW is often musrepresented as a fancy name for open plan or as a way to introduce unpopular hot desking arrangements.

In fact the originators of ABW in the Netherlands, architects Veldhoen + Company, believe it is a platform for innovation.  So what exactly is it? And how does it relate to Knowledge Management?
James Dellow will:

  • Provide an introduction to Activity Based Working (ABW)
  • Explain its relationship to Knowledge Management and related ideas such as the “Digital Workplace” and Enterprise Social Networks (ESNs)
  • Talk about his experience of being part of an integrated workplace strategy team
  • The challenges and opportunities for KM practice and practitioners in organisations that adopt ABW
