Background:

The NSW KM Forum has been around for over 15 years.  I think it’s fair to say that we can now call it a KM institution!

All events and activities of the Forum have been initiated, organised and facilitated by the Committee, which is purely voluntary.

One of the reasons the NSW KM Forum has been going so long is that the Committee seems to be an organic being that evolves with Committee Members joining and leaving as their capacity and interests change.

While committee members never really drop off the Committee email list, over the past couple of years its numbers have reduced to only 2 or 3 active members – which realistically makes it quite difficult to keep up momentum and variety in events. And while we’ve managed over the past 3 or 4 years to have fairly regular monthly guest speakers, you may have noticed that there have not been any NSW KM Forum Events over the past few months.

Current Situation:

While only a couple of people have been active in organising guest speakers and events, a recent feedback survey sent out to our KM Community along with ad hoc inquiries about future events from KM Practitioners we’ve been chatting to recently lead us to believe that there is still a lot of interest in NSW KM Forum events.

So we’re putting out a call for people to join a newly invigorated and expanded Committee to canvass new ideas and new connections to build momentum and help take the NSW KM Forum and its community to the next level – perhaps (through the use of the many tools now at our disposal) nationally or even internationally!

The Proposed Meetup:

While we will be facilitating and actioning the outcomes, we are keeping our first meeting of prospective new Committee Members informal and social. (As most valuable KM interactions are!)  The venue will be where the NSW KM Forum community has been retiring for post event drinks over the past few years – the back section of The Palace Hotel in Haymarket.

So we are now calling for people interested in all things KM, Innovation, Information, (and anything related) to join the Committee.

Please Register for this event via Eventbrite if you are interested in meeting with other professionals who want to take an active part in the future of NSW KM Forum.  Our first meeting will discuss and scope out future direction/events and how the new Committee can contribute. Attendance at this initial meeting is not necessarily a commitment to continue, but an opportunity to see if you would like to.

See you there!
